Movie mode Day 142

Evening on Galata bridge. Family waiting for their father/husband to pack up his fishing rod, buckets, etc. Yes, people still ride on the back of the lorries, yes, they still fit 9 or 10 bodies into one small car and, yes, it's normal to block a lane and park there. Traffic is relentless but I do have to admit I'm surprised it's not worse. For a city of 12-15 million it's kind of OK.

That bit of the building visible top left is the New Mosque, the bit visible top right is the Spice Market / Egyptian Bazaar.

I wanted this image darkish and in a movie mode...

Shadows have their own lives Day 141

I went to a baptism. Still processing the photos, I'll upload some later on. This image caught my eye due to the shadows. Like they have their own life. Every shadow could tell a different story if it wasn't for the statue that makes it all clear ;-)
High ISO + processed as analogue shot so there's a lot of grain. I'm still trying to decide if I like it.

Red for love and passion? A rose is just a rose, big bonus if it has any scent =D Day 140

.

Suddenly the evening turned foggy Day 139

Thick fog just before the sundown.

Crafting for freedom, future, following dreams... Day 138

Today a few of the members of our photo club, me included, went to photograph Nahil shop. It is run by a fundation for women and children, offering women support and classes on craftsmanship and activities etc. for children. We later donated the photos to them. The shop is full of things, from used books and clother to handmade soap, organic toys, jewellry, candles, slippers, even purses. Since I like thing de-cluttered I was lucky, they send a bunch of things to a fair and there was this one, half empty shelf.. to which I run immediately. Took some promo shots afterwards but ended up lovinf the redness of this =D

SP for the exhibition' bio Day 137

Being in front of the lens is an absolute nightmare for me. Hate it! It's difficult to explain how much!! I tried and tried to introduce more SPs in my 365 just to overcome this weakness (if I cannot work with myself how can I possibly work with others?!) and time and time again I tell myself that maybe tomorrow... It would be nice to have 12 SPs in a year, don't you think?? Well, in 5 months this is the 2nd one. Only because I desperately needed a photo for a "bio print" representing me and my work at the gallery (obviously there are almost no existing pics of me.. most hairstyles I went through were never documented for example and I have one pic from pregnancy - yes one!)

For those of you who have not heard yet, our photo club is having a photo exhibition, opening on 26th May. There's 8th of us, each with minimum 4 40x60cm prints. Preparations are a pain but it should be fun!!

I adore theatrics =D Day 136

No, the person in this photo is not me. We had a studio photography class about lighting set up - area I know nothing about. Immensely interesting and a lot of fun.

Converted to high contrast BW, cos I like theatrics ;-D

f/2 plus very high ISO, this one happened when shooting out of turn since we were encouraged to shoot at all times and the whole class happily impersonated a group of paparazzi hahaha.
