I suppose the world took over Year 2 Day 24

I photographically dislike those days when I'm flying. I cannot be bothered to take another out-of-the-window-oh-here's-our-wing shot, I find airports boring (and Ljubljana's is a size of .... ahem... plankton compared to others), I have no time to shoot before and I'm too exhausted after. So I usually take a point and shoot and, well, point and, hahaha, shoot.. anything that looks half decent LOL

Lensbaby testing 4th day Year 2 Day 23

BG: Buildings reflected in Ljubljanica river, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Foreground: weed in the structure of "Shoemaker's" bridge. Funny. No plants anywhere and this one survives the freezing cold nestled in the wooden structure LOL

Lensbaby foodie Year 2 Day 22

3rd day of Lensbaby 3G. I attacked my favourite cake in my hubby's favourite place in Ljubljana ;-) No styling, this is as it arrived (including the weird position of the fork).

I still think that Lensbaby is at its most magical with people (on Flickr, click the pic to get there).

Lensbaby streetscape Year 2 Day 21

Testing Lensbaby 3G. I decided to put it through the hard test - late at night, handheld (I wasn't worried about high ISO, with the toy effect it looks charming IMO).

Lensbaby on streets at night: Very colourful and strangely shaped bokeh. Actually more colourful than non-toy lenses. Very(!) limited DOF. Maximum focusing distance is not very far... Still, it does have it's own charm... Not useful at all but a fun toy if you don't mind limited focus range + fumbling with manual controls & soft spot adjusting & manual focus simultaneously :-))

My baby through Lensbaby Year 2 Day 20

OK, I admit, I might be chipping his street cred by calling him my baby... but oh, we mothers LOL

Post processing: only conversion to B&W

I borrowed a Lensbaby 3G from a friend for a few days to figure out if I want one, I think the aperture ring inside is f/8, judging by the size of the opening.
Hmmmmmmm.
- manual program only (here f/0 [aperture f/8 though Lensbaby], 1/50, ISO 5000 since the only light source was comp screen)
- trying to simultaneously adjust sweet spot & focus manually is a trial
- focus does not seem to reach far at all
- locking and unlocking it while shooting is a pain, I left it unlocked and it worked quite well
- it's not for grab a quick shot on the street ;-)
- I like the arty feel but it should take me quite a long time to really learn how to use it and exploit it's good sides... at 1st look the lens comes across as (too?) troublesome
- focusing ring in not intuitive, so I think I'll also look at the Composer... but I can see I'm getting hooked LOL

Show me your nothing / that you've left behind / and I'll build from it a forest and a highway / airport, baseness, tenderness / a missing home Year 2 Day 18

Antique toy store + reflection. Makes me think of longing. I'm quoting Szymborska again, it just felt right.
