I absolutely adore this image Day 263

...even though it gave me such a headache. I had to correct distortion since it was taken on an ultra wide. I have to ask her how she feels about it, at this distortion faces get pretty weird so I had to try to normalize her. Have you noticed that my friend has this amazing blue eyes?!

This is page 17. Page 16 is below.

Meet me at the castle my queen Day 262

So connected these two. This pic just happened. Purely and completely caught, no planning / posing at all.

I think they'll get it in colour, because of the flowers. Idea for a double page and the colour version of the photo are below.

"Her" Day 261

This is her page, the page 2. Composite of 3 photos. The background is the view from her parental home and she's holding a childhood photo of herself. This opens the photo book as their "pre-history". He'll be on page 3, also with a background showing the area of Slovenia he's from and also holding his childhood photo (I'm waiting for that one so I'm not finished, I'll upload him later...). The background is antiquated BW since both areas viewed side by side are a visual cacophony.

Yes I photographed her holding a blank paper board. I've learned to use the warp tool in PS since the paper was not straight. Adore PS, I do.

Location, location, location Day 260

Working on the pix, I have no energy, will or time to shoot something fresh.

Here I had to find a way of adjusting the colour of her skirt, it was curiously way too dark and saturated?? Managed finally. Love the layers in PS. This will be page 36. Page 35 is below, I've not finalized yet how it will look at the end but that's the idea. Not sure about lower left pic.

Bring me flowers my love... something as fresh, fragile and beautiful as the emotion that binds me to you Day 259

I shot a wedding, obviously. You'll be seeing glimpses into the photo book I'm making for them for a few days, for me it's a mountain of an edit and I just don't have energy left to shoot at the moment. I'm converting, photoshopping odd hands from photos, adjusting colour balance, converting to BW, even.. ah, I'll show you another day.

My 1st shot that's headless. Even though that's a flickr classic... :-D

Approx idea for the pages 34 and 35 of the photo book below. I need to colour adjust 2nd flower shot's background to the grass of the 1st shot *laughs a mad laugh* ;-D and sharpen but that's at the end when I have all the pages finished.

I've rented a 24-70 2.8 Canon which was unbelievably soft (unsharp). Horrible. So I pulled the oldest trick from the hat and added glow to the portrait of the couple. If you can't beat them, join them hahaha.

pg35

I've just noticed that I uploaded a really really small file, I hope you see this clearly enough. Actual quality is much better, this is just a thumbnail for me to help me put the book together.

I'm so thankful I was allowed to share this joyous day with them. Good luck, love birds, may it be a long and happy flight!!

How to get rid of the annoying mother with a camera... Day 258

Please note that this advice will backfire. Said mother will only get excited about unusual aspects of the scene in front of her lens.... Better to pose.

;-P

PP today. I wanted to test a wiggle setting in Photo Tools so I decided on this photo. Took me a bit longer since I also sharpened selectively, corrected blue circles under his eyes and added a film effect.

The wall is really even more psychedelic, I've toned it down slightly!!

You promised to pet me, you vile creature, put that camera away... Day 257

;-P

My brother's dog, Nana. Bullterrier. Sweet, obedient, fun and quite a comedian.

This is quite a mountain of an edit, lens distortion correction, high pass sharpening to bring out the details, adding warmth... I wanted her to literally jump out of the screen when the file is opened full size full screen. I need her to act aggressive next time she "poses" - would be the best burglar repellent :--D

Another playful snap below.
